Domenica 24 gennaio/Sunday 24th January

Domenica e la giornata dedicata agli lezioni di danza tradizionale, ma qui abbiamo una piccola intrusa. / Sunday is dedicated to classical Cambodian dance lessons, but this little one is an intruder.

Ma le ragazze ci mettano di tutto nelle prove di danza e sono molto brave / But the girls put their all into practising and they are very good.

Dopo la lezione di ballo l’insegnate e ragazzi mi hanno invitata ad andare a vedere il tempio di Sasear che è vicino ma non ero mai salita allora nonostante il caldo ho acconsentito. L’allegra brigata è partita causando non pochi sguardi curiosi e tanti saluti dei locali seduti sotto l’ombra dell’albero che era la scuola originale. / After the dance lesson the teacher and children invited me to visit the temple at Sasear which is very near but I had never been to. So despite the heat I accepted. So a happy group set off drawing not a few curious stares from the locals and good wishes from those lazing under the shade of the tree which had been the beginning of our center.

Prima rampa di scale, prima sudata. / First flight of steps, first glow of sweat.

Dopo un altro rampa di scale e la discesa nella caverna dei pipistrelli facendo omaggio a Buddha strada facendo facciamo una pausa per una foto con la vacca sacra. Ormai la mia Bond iPad e in mano ai ragazzi che sono diventati fotografi molto bravi, e per fortuna lo trattano bene / After another flight of stairs and a descent into the bats cave, stopping to pay homage to Buddha on the way we posed for a rituals photo with the holy cow (no comments please!) By now my Bond iPad has been taken over by the kids who take pretty good photos and fortunately they treat it with respect.

Ma una volta salita come si fa a scendere in particolare senza scarpe? Per fortuna ci sono i miei due angeli custodi che ci tengano alla loro “mommy” / So once up there how do I get down, particularly with no shoes? Fortunately my two guardian angels give a helping hand. They really care for their “mommy”

Ultimo rampa di scale e siamo in cima. Ecco che arriva con determinazione la piccola intromessa. Sarà mica una spia? / Last flight of steps and we’re at the top. Here comes our little invader with great determination. Could she be a spy?

Per fortuna il pomeriggio era più tranquillo. /  Fortunately the afternoon was a lot less energetic.
