Oggi sono partita prima perché dovevo fermarmi a fare delle foto copie per le lezioni. 160 fotocopie in b/n $1,50. / Today I left earlier because I had to have some photocopies made for my lessons. 160 photocopies in b/w $1,50.

Mi sono venuti incontro le ragazze più grande a prendere lo zaino, la mia piccola calamitata che quasi mi fa cadere stringendomi le gambe ed altri piccoli con il coro di “Good morning” . Sono pronti a pulire I denti dopo avere mangiato lo snack fornito dal Centro. Poi vanno a giocare e mentre giocano mangiano patatine etc. portati da casa. Ma almeno stanno imparando a pulire I denti. Mentre giravo a fare foto ho incontrato un gruppetto che stavano cercando a turni ed in tutti I modi ad aprire un sacchetto di patatine. Mentre filmavo una bambina ha pensato bene di passare il sacchetto a me. Logico che essendo un adulto sarei stata capace. Per la fortuna del mio orgoglio l’ho aperto subito. / Some of the older girls came to meet me and take my rucksack while my little limpet just about knocked me over by hugging my legs, other little ones arrived to a chorus of “good morning”. They are ready to clean their teeth after having the snack provided by the Center. Then they go to play and meanwhile eat crisps and other snacks brought from home. At least they are learning to clean their teeth. While I was wandering round taking photos I came across a group who in turn and by various methods were trying to open a packet of crisps. While I was filming one girl decided it was best to pass it to me. Of course being an adult I should be able to do it. For the good fortune of my pride I managed straight away.

Dopo una mattinata di “numero 2” sono passata alla lezione degli insegnanti facendo vedere il filmato “Quattro donne in giro per la Cambogia” filmato che ho fatto per raccontare il mio primo viaggio in Novembre 2013. I motivi erano due, creare conversazione su I posti che ho visitato chiedendo dove sono stati loro in Cambogia e secondo farle vedere dei bambini del Centro di più di 4 anni fa e vedere se riuscivano riconoscerli. Come lezione e stato un grande successo e molto più apprezzato della grammatica. / After a morning doing “number 2” I passed over to the teachers lesson showing them a film called “Four Women around Cambodia” film that I had made to talk about my first journey in November 2013. I had two motives, create conversation on the places I had visited and ask them where they had been in Cambodia and secondly show them some of the Center children from over four years ago to see if they could recognise them. As a lesson it was a great success and much more appreciated than grammar.

Durante la pausa pranzo sono  arrivati due bambini dei più piccoli che non conosco perché non insegno nella loro classe ed orgogliosamente sono venuti a regalarmi un sacchetto con due grossi papaya. Meritavano un grosso abbraccio come ringraziamento anche perché, sinceramente, ho finito la scorta di biscotti. Ma questi sono I Cambogiani. Non hanno niente ma quel poco che possano lo regalano volentieri anche a chi considerano ricchi. / During the lunch break two small boys arrived who I don’t really know as I don’t teach in their class and proudly presented me with a bag containing two big papaya. They deserved a big hug because, sincerely , I have finished my supply of biscuits. But these are Cambodians. They don’t have anything but what little they can they give willingly even to somebody they consider rich.

Nel pomeriggio, sempre con problemi su opposti, sono arrivati un gruppo di ragazzi della scuola secondaria, compresso l’immancabile Vannak,  per scrivere lettere ai loro sponsor. E sempre bello a vederli perfino il monello Visal. Sentirei la sua mancanza di birichino se non forse per il fatto che Socheat ha preso il suo posto. Non riesco neanche sgridarlo, anche se ci provo, lui sa che lo voglio bene e si approfitta. La verità è che li voglio bene a tutti, ma non tutti si approfittano! / In the afternoon, still with problems of opposites, a group of children from secondary school arrive, including the ever present Vannak, to write letters to their sponsors. It is always good to see them even Mr mischief himself Visal. I would miss him if it weren’t for the fact that Socheat has taken his place. I can’t even tell him off, even if I try, he knows I like him too much and he takes advantage. The truth is I like them all a lot, but not all of them take advantage!

 Tuk-tuk, albergo, doccia con bucato, cena, diario………… / Tuk-tuk, hotel, shower with washing, dinner, diary……….
