Iniziò già dicendo che questo era una giornata da dimenticare, anzi era praticamente non-esistente. / I’ll start by saying this was a day to forget, in fact it was practically non-existent!

Non stavo bene quando mi sono alzata ma testone che sono ho voluto andare al centro lo stesso. Il tempo per vedere iniziare I lavori su la struttura dell’aula provvisoria fatto in stile Cambogiano, legno e fogli di palmo secco. / I didn’t feel well when I got up but hard headed as I am I wanted to go to the Center anyway. Time to see the work begun on the provisional classroom structure made in Cambodian style, wood and dried palm leaves.

Ho resistito durante la lezione dei piccoli poi ho dovuto cedere. Oltre ad aver perso la voce quasi completamente mi addormentavo letteralmente in piedi. Ho chiamato Mr Dom e con la preoccupazione dello staff e consigli di prendere questo è fare quell’altro sono tornata in albergo, dove la cuoca era stata avvertita dalla nostra Channa, che guarda caso e sua cognata, mi ha preparata una bevanda calda di zenzero e lemongrass. Zombando (si è un nuovo verbo che ho appena inventato, andando come uno zombi) mi sono recata nel mio bungalow, caricato sul letto con un sorso della bevanda e quando mi sono svegliata 4 ore dopo era fredda. Ma era buono lo stesso ed io ero sempre senza voce ma determinata a tornare nel Centro l’indomani ho ordinato una zuppa piccante nella speranza che mi sistemava la gola. E questo è tutto. / I resisted during the nursery school lesson then I had to give in. As well as having almost lost my voice completely I was falling asleep standing up. I called Mr Dom and amidst the preoccupation of the staff and advice on what to take and what to do went back to the hotel where the cook,  who had been alerted by Channa, who just happens to be her sister-in-law, prepared me a hot drink of ginger and lemongrass. Zombing ( yes it’s a new verb, I’ve just invented it, it means walking like a zombie) I went back to my bungalow, lay on the bed, took a sip of the drink and when I woke up four hours later it had gone cold. It was good anyway and I still had no voice but was determined to go to the Center the following day so ordered a spicy soup in the hope it would put my throat to rights.  And that’s that.
