Alla mattina, durante la pause I piccoli inventano I loro giochi. Hanno già una zona giochi con altalene, sbarre per arrampicare, gomme per inventari giochi e fra poco avranno un buco di sabbia. Ma ci sono I maschi che giocano ad essere scimmie e femmine che cucinano è maschi, sempre loro, che buttano il “cibo” per aria ed io, che prima che iniziano le lacrime persuado il maschio cattivo di diventare buono e dare una mano. / During the morning break the small children invent games. They already have a play area with swings, a climbing frame, lorry tyres with which they invent games and soon they will have a sandpit. But there are boys who play at being monkeys and girls who cook and boys, always them, who throw the “food” into the air and me, before the tears start, who persuades the bad boys to turn good and give a helping hand.

Durante la pausa pranzo mi stavo avviando al mio tavolo sotto gli alberi e vedo che I bambini che erano lì a giocare mi guardano e ridano. Mi giro, niente, mi giro dall’altra parte e vedo che qualcuno c’è. Mi giro del tutto e davanti a me sorridente ma stranamente timido c’è il mio bodyguard Vannak. E un ragazzo adorabile e sento tanto la sua mancanza da quando l’anno scorso e passato alla scuola secondaria. Provo farlo delle domande sull’andamento della scuola e con chi va a scuola. All’inizio e un po’ esitante poi comincia a rispondermi e riusciamo ad intavolare una piccola conversazione. Poi guarda l’orologio, e ora di andare a scuola ma promette di passare a trovarmi ancora. / During the lunch break I was heading for my table under the trees when  I see the boys who had already arrived and were playing looking at me and laughing. I turn round, nothing, I turn the other way, enough to see there is someone there.i turn all the way round and there in front of me smiling but strangely timid is my bodyguard Vannak. A really lovable boy and I miss him since he went to the secondary school last year. I try asking him questions about how school is going and which other children go to his school. At first he is hesitant then slowly he starts to answer and we manage to have a short conversation. Then he looks at his watch, it’s time to go to school be he promises to come back and see me.

Il pomeriggio risulta molto faticosa. Dopo la prima lezione e durante la pausa prepariamo il circa 30 chili di vestiti secondo mano dono d’amici che ho portato. Cerchiamo di dividere in femmine piccole, medie e grande ed idem per I maschi e così che gli avevo messi nella valigia. Ma ci sono tanti per femmine piccoli e pochi per I maschi piccoli e diventa difficile a trovare qualcosa per tutti. Si fanno le foto con indosso I vestiti, poi arriva una ragazza ridendo perché l’hanno dato una bella camicia di maschio, per fortuna troviamo qualcosa per lei e anche la camicia va a un ragazzo che aveva preso qualcosa troppo grande. Metto via tutto, ma nonostante tutti I vestiti che abbiamo dato via la valigia e ancora piena. E ti pareva, arrivano due maschietti piccoli che erano andati a giocare e non avevano partecipato. Troviamo un paio di jeans per uno, ma stasera non dovrà mangiare il riso e una maglietta per l’altro che dovrà crescere in fretta. / The afternoon turns out to be very tiring. After the first lesson and during the break we prepare the almost 30 kilos of secondhand clothes I have brought donated by friends. We try to divide them for small girls, medium, large and the same for the boys. That is hoe I had packed them. But there are a lot of things for small girls and not many for small boys and it soon becomes difficult to find something for everybody. We take photos of them with the clothes on then one of the older girls comes up laughing. She has been given a very nice blouse, pity it’s a shirt. Fortunately we find something for her and the shirt goes to a little boy who had been given a t-shirt that was too big. I pack everything away but despite the fact we have given away a lot of clothes the suitcase is still full. Naturally with everything away two small boys arrive. They had gone off to play and missed out. We find a pair of jeans for one but he won’t have to eat any rice tonight and a t-shirt for the other who will have to grow fast.
