La fine di una lunga giornata, di fatto iniziata ieri mattina alle 7 in Italia e che si chiude adesso alle 23.50 a Phnom Penh. / The end of a long day that started yesterday at 7 in Italy and comes to an end now at around 11.50 p.m. in Phnom Penh.
Ormai mi sono abituato a queste oltre 12 ore di volo e non mi pesano più di tanto. Dal volo tra Bangkok e Phnom Penh scorgo all’orizzonte il Tonle Sap, il grande lago che occupa tutta la parte centrale della Cambogia e che è la più grande riserva ittica del sud est asiatico. / In a way I got the habit to this jourmey of over 12 hours of flight and I do not suffer it so mauch any more. From the flight between Bangkok and Phnom Penh I get a glimpse of the Tonle Sap, the great lake that covers the central part of Cambodia and is the richest fishing reserve in South East Asia.
Phnom Penh mi accoglie ogni volta più caotica e ormai mi sono definitvamente convinto che avrò sempre bisogno di una guida per girare questa città. Dico sempre che Phnom Penh è una città che ti assale, ti penetra, la senti sulla pelle. / Phnom Penh welcomes me every time more chaotic and I finally reached the conclusion that I will always need a guide to go around town. I always say that it is a town that hits you hard, it gets into you, somehow you feel it on your skin.
La temperatura non è altissima, siamo circa a 29 gradi, ma l’umidità oggi rende davvero il clima insopportabile. Si suda anche da fermi, solo a respirare. / The temperature is not that high, it is around 29 degrees Celsius, but the humidity is stifling and makes the climate almost unbearable. I sweat my head out just sitting and breathing
Con Sokkea, la mattina la dedichiamo alle prime necessarie compere, soprattutto per acquistare una SIM cambogiana per il cellulare. With Sokkea, we dedicate the morning to the first necessary buys, first of all to get a Cambodian Simcard for my cell phone.
Pomeriggio di relax per recuperare un po’ di sonno e prepararsi per la cena con Sokkea e famiglia. / In the afternoon a little relax to catch up on my sleep and prepare for dinner out with Sokkea’s family.
Andiamo da Mr Mab, il ristorante dell’amico Rito Kaizen, che più volte ci ha dato una mano con il nostro Centro a Domnak Chamboak. Finalmente l’occasione per incontrare lui e la sua famiglia. / We go to Mr. Mab restaurant, to our firiend Rito Kaizen, that lent us a hand several times with our center in Domnak Chamboak
Sono davvero felice che ci possiamo finalmente conoscere di persona. / I am really happy that finally we can get to know each other in person.
Alla fine ci offre la cena, e l’accordo finale è che io verserò al progetto quello che avrei pagato al ristorante. E’ il suo modo di dirci grazie per quello che facciamo per i bambini di Domnak Chamboak . E’ uno dei modi in cui ci dà una mano. Buon Compleanno Rito./ It all ends up with Rito offering us dinner and the final agreement is that I will put in the project the money I would have spent at the restaurant. Domani partenza per Kampot e Domnak Chamboak. Davvero non vedo l’ora di abbracciare i nostri bambini. Mi danno sempre tanta energia e come mi ha scritto questa sera un amico in un messaggio, quello che mi danno ha un valore infinitamente superiore a quello che io riesco a dare loro, a fare per loro. / Tomorrow we leave to Kampot and Domnak Chamboak. I really can’t wait to hug our children. They give me so much energy and, as a friend wrote me tonight in a message, what they give me back is infinitely more valuable than anything I can give them or I can do for them.
